What is this fabric?
For the body of the garment and its buttons, these products use premium lambskins, which is another word for sheepskin or shearling, and strong nylon thread to stitch it all together. Shearling outerwear’s buttonholes are bound for aesthetic appeal and durability, and all seams are double-stitched. The buttonholes are purposefully small because, with use, they will stretch and loosen. The sheepskin coats’ hem stabilizers aid to some extent resist the fabric’s natural curling. For sleeves and collars, the softest and most supple skins are used to ensure comfort and flexibility.
When sheepskin is properly prepared, it produces a hide that naturally wicks away body moisture and keeps you cool even in hot weather. Sheepskin is incredibly cozy and pleasant, yet unlike synthetic fabrics, it won’t cause you to sweat. It effectively blocks wind because it is a conceal.
