Wayno Biography and Education

Wayno is an American music journalist and television show host. He was born Wayne Clark on December 28, 1982 in Harlem, New York, United States and he was raised there by his parents. He fell in love with music and musical instruments at the young age of five. He grew up being a huge fan of the Harlem Hip Hop music and he was also a huge fan of artistes like DMC and Public Enemy.

Wayno attended High School, but he didn’t complete as he dropped out and began to work as a mail assistant in Manhattan. He worked in the same building which housed labels like Def Jam, Roc-A-Fella Records, Murder Inc., Bloodline and Bob Marley’s family label. While working his job there, he also volunteered to help out in Jay-Z’s fan club called Fan Fam after work.

Career

Being close to all these record labels and their members inspired him into pursuing a music related career. He was later fired from his mail job, but he got an internship at Roc-A-Fella, he worked hard enough and became an A&R rep. Wayno took a break from music and when he came back he set up his own management company called Triangle Offense Management.

His management company has been in charge of the careers of artistes like rapper Dave East and Buda from the music duo Buda-N-Grandz. Apart from being a music journalist and entrepreneur, Wayno loves to write children’s book and biographies. He is also a fashion designer and owns the clothing line called Cool Mentality.

He is the vice president of Asylum Records. He also co-hosts the Complex News’ Daily YouTube Hip Hop news show Everyday Struggle alongside DJ Akademiks and Nadeska Alexis.
