Sead Kolasinac was born on the 20th of June 1993 in Karlsruhe, Baden-wurttemberg, Germany and he was born to Bosniak parents, his father named Faik Kolasinac, worked at a Mercedes-Benz factory.
Kolasinac attended Gesamtschule Berger Feld and he was raised as a Muslim and he was given the Bosnian passport in 2013.

Sead Kolasinac began his football career by playing for youth teams such as Karlsruher SC from 2001 to 2009, 1899 Hoffenheim from 2009 to 2010, VFB Stuttgart in 2010 and Schalke 04 from 2011 to 2012.
He made his senior team debut with Schalke 04 II, where he played from 2012 to 2015 making 8 appearances and scored 2 goals, he played for Schalke 04 from 2012 to 2017 making 94 appearances and scoring 4 goals and in 2017, he transferred to Arsenal.
