In 2001, he collaborated with artistes likes Lil Wayne, Lil’ Zane and others for the Hardball soundtrack. The song reached the number 77 spot on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop songs chart.

In 2005, he got signed to Rowdy Records and he released his second album titled ‘Sammie’ in 2006. The album debuted at number 42 on the Billboard 200 chart.

In 2008, he was featured on rapper Soulja Boy’s hit single ‘Kiss Me thru the Phone’ which peaked at number 3 on the Billboard Hot 100. In 2012, he co-wrote the song ‘Next Breath’ for singer Tank’s fifth studio album titled ‘This is How I Feel’.

In 2016, he released his third album ‘INDIGO’ under his own record label StarCamp Music. His fourth album ‘Coming of Age’ was released in September 2017.
