Niall Matter was born on October 20, 1980 in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada and he was raised by his parents named Arthur and Jennifer Matter and he grew up in a dairy farm.
Matter’s acting career began in his High School days, he was encouraged by his School teacher to join the acting classes which he did and by the time he was 13 years old, he had already won the best actor prize at a provincial drama championship in 1999.
He attended Vancouver Film School, worked for a while at an oil rig, before deciding to pursue his acting career full time.
