Mike Iaconelli was born Michael Iaconelli on June 17, 1972 in Runnemede, New Jersey and he was raised by his mother, uncle and grandparents.

He was introduced to fishing by his family members who usually went on summer trips to the Pocono Mountains. On these trips, his uncles would always do bass fishing and it was from there that his love for the fishing technique began.

After he enrolled into High School, he won various High School bass fishing challenges and he then decided to pursue it as a professional career.

Bass Fishing Career

Immediately after graduating from High School, Iaconelli founded the bass fishing club known as ‘Top Rod Bassmasters’. The club had inter-competitions amongst its members.

In 1992, he joined the North Carolina Top 100 and competed on the Lake Norman in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina.

In 1994, he also competed once more at the North Carolina Top 100 on Lake Norman and he ended up winning the competition and won the prize of a new Ranger 374 bass boat.

Apart from being a professional bass fisherman, Iaconelli is also a television personality as he has starred in the YouTube series ‘Going Ike’. He has also starred in television series ‘Ike Live!’ and ‘City Limits Fishing’.

Iaconelli has also featured on television programs such as ‘truTV and he also featured on Comedy Central’s The Daily Show: Ed Helms.
