Katherine Langford was born on the 29th of April, 1996, in Perth, Western Australia, Australia and she was raised in Applecross, which is a riverside suburb of Perth and she was born to a mother named Elizabeth Langford, who works as a Pediatrician and a father named Stephen Langford, a flying doctor and director of medical services at the Royal Flying Doctor Service Western Operations and she grew up with a younger sister named Josephine Langford, who is also a film star.
Langford discovered her acting talent at a very young age and in 2005, at the age of 9, she began voice lessons and received classical, jazz and contemporary vocal training, she attended Perth Modern School, where she was very active in music and drama activities, according to her, during her time in High School, she initially found interest in medicine and politics, but after attending Lady Gaga’s concert, she was inspired to learn how to play the Piano and began to develop a lot of interest in music and acting.
Apart from singing and acting, Langford is also a good swimmer as she was involved in various swimming competitions while in High School and in 2013, she appeared in a High School production titled Hotel Sorrento and graduated from High School in 2013.
After High School, Langford wanted to enroll into an acting school, but she was rejected in all acting Schools which she wanted to enroll into on the grounds that she was too young, she later enrolled at the Principal Academy of Dance & Theatre Arts, where she majored in music Theatre and she was later selected to participate in the National Institute of Dramatic Arts Advanced Actors Residency in 2015 and she later trained at Nicholson’s Academy of Screen Acting.
