Jefferson Mays was born Lewis Jefferson Mays on the 8th of June, 1965 in Clinton, Connecticut, United States and he was also raised there, he was born to his father, who worked as a naval intelligence officer and to his mother, a Librarian.
Jefferson Mays attended Yale College, where he graduated with a Bachelor’s of Arts degree and he later enrolled at the University of California, San Diego, where he earned a Master of Fine Arts in acting.
