The biography of Anastasia Gorshkova is permeated with creativity. Her style allows her to stand out among other artists. Today she is the author of interior solutions for popular European restaurants and bars.
Childhood, family
This year Anastasia turned 35 years old. She was born in the city of Serov, Sverdlovsk region. However, from an early age, she lived in Moscow.
The girl grew up in a creative family. Her father was an artist and instilled in her a love for art from childhood. Her mother was a figure skater in her youth.
In one of her interviews, Anastasia Alekseevna Gorshkova confessed that her path to creativity began with home-cooking evenings. She often liked to help her parents with cooking by making dumplings. Anastasia enjoyed the very process of creating the dish.
Over time, her mother suggested that she enroll in a salt dough modeling class. Then the daughter wanted to learn the art of pottery. Once, she sat behind the wheel for four hours to make her mother a birthday present – a small jug. So Anastasia became seriously interested in sculpture. She won at school competitions and then entered the expositions of the district and local exhibitions.
She took her first steps in interior design when she helped her parents renovate their apartment, advising them on the best colors to paint walls and furniture. And when her father needed a bookcase, she volunteered to make it herself.
At the family’s country house, Anastasia always imagined herself as a landscaper and helped her parents decorate the plot.
Getting an education, internships
Gorshkova studied at an ordinary Moscow school. Once, having proposed to her parents to transfer her to the Moscow Academic Art Lyceum at the Russian Academy of Arts, she received approval. Father and mother saw that their daughter’s childish hobby gradually grew larger and could become the basis for choosing a future profession.
Two years later, she applied for admission to the Surikov Art Institute in Moscow. She passed the examination successfully and became a student of sculpture. Teachers of the prestigious specialized high school noted her unique handwriting and unconventional thinking.
Anastasia combined her studies with part-time work – she created designs for apartments and country houses for family, friends, and relatives. She also offered original sculptures, installations, and jewelry.
The promising designer’s client base was enlarging – her ideas interested owners of the Russian capital’s elite real estate. She works with many of them to this day.
She spent her first large sum of money on a trip to European capitals, where she visited museums, galleries, and exhibitions. She became acquainted with the work of foreign authors, who subsequently helped her place her work in local venues.
After receiving higher education, she interned at the Berlin School of Art. Then she “pumped up” her professional skills in Vienna and began working at the intersection of two avant-garde movements – surrealism and abstractionism.
