David Lee Murphy is an American country music singer and songwriter. He was born on January 7, 1959 in Herrin, Illinois, United States. In 1983, he moved to Nashville, Tennessee, to pursue his music career. In 1985, he was spotted by record producer Tony Brown at a club in Nashville and that was how his career set off. He wasn’t signed to any record label until 1995.

Music Career

In 1994, Murphy’s single ‘Just Once’ entered the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks Chart, reaching number 36. In 1995, he released his debut album ‘Out with a Band’ and the album was a huge success. In 1996, Murphy released his second album titled ‘Getting Out the Good Stuff’.

In 1997, he released third album titled We Can’t All Be Angels. In 2000, he focused more on his career as a songwriter. In 2004, he was signed by Koch Entertainment and that same year, he released his fourth album titled ‘Tryin’ to Get There’.

In 2017, Murphy signed to Reviver Records and then announced the release of his fifth album titled ‘No Zip Code’ which he released in 2018.
