Aakeel began his acting career while he was in High School; he caught the eyes of a director after he successfully played a role in a High School play, he later went on to star as Omar in the award winning film Eaten by Lions and in 2018, he appeared in Warnerbros’ Tomb Raider reboot which was directed by Roar Uthaug.
In 2016, Aakeel was cast in the London crime thriller film City of Tiny Lights which was directed by Pete Travis, that same year; he played a supporting role in The Hungry, which was an adaptation of Shakespeare’s Titus Andronicus.
In 2015, he played the role of Raza in the film Contract which was directed by Nic Auerbach, he later starred as Nasir Baloch in the political short film The Line of Freedom which was directed by David Whitney.
He also starred in BBC One’s suspense thriller series Dublin Murders, he later starred in the British series Skins, he was also cast as Mati in BBC One’s Moving On and in 2017, he appeared in BBC One’s Three Girls.
